Previously…
As Product Management Director, I have been responsible for the ongoing development of Verisae’s vx Sustain (formerly Hara Enterprise and Energy Management) platform.
In this capacity I have led a mixed onshore/offshore team in the development of new features and methodologies including bulk data estimation and forecasting, and in various platform integrations including EPA’s Energy Star Portfolio Manager and multiple analytics platforms.
Prior to this, I have been responsible for managing the creation and delivery of the Life Cycle Assessment module for PTC’s Windchill Product Analytics platform. I have been co-chair of the IPC committee responsible for the IPC-175x data exchange standard for supply chain materials declaration. And I have been responsible for the creation and expansion of the 1752builder site, where suppliers can create the IPC-175x forms they use to declare their products’ materials contents to their customers.
As an MBA in Sustainable Management, I combine an in-depth understanding of traditional businesses, governments, and institutions and their markets with a deep awareness of its applicability to sustainable business. I have an extensive background in global marketing and product management, including 10 years with Cisco Systems where I carried the global responsibility for a high-tech product line with $100M annual revenue.
My strengths lie in working with customers (both internal and external), leading software development using Agile principles, developing feature requirements, and setting development priorities (I am not afraid to say no). The software developers I have worked with often say that projects they did with me were amongst the most gratifying projects they have worked on.
I enjoy developing a deep technical understanding of the platforms I am working on and am not afraid of touching the code or hacking the database.
My path in sustainable business has included work with Global Footprint Network and with Natural Logic. Prior to that I provided business consulting for several alternative energy startup companies, was a founding member of DriveNeutral.org – an organization that offsets carbon emissions for individual car owners, and a member of the steering committee for Sustainable Mill Valley.
I have a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and an MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio School of Management in San Francisco.
